ESSENCE OF MATTER AND MIRNA Salamanque

By Janet Romero

Plastic speeches are steeped in the concerns and intimate view of artists. However, the emergence of trends, these currents of thought that surround and define historical eras and times for the group-slip somehow, and end up being portrayed in the play, with the characteristics and the intention of the makers of art.

Today, the attention stops at Salamanque Mirna, who introduced the product in plastic trajectory contained in an anthology of 39 years of searching and research.

A Mirna is perceived as a sensitive traveler who has ridden several times on the horizon of contemporary arts, guided by the intuitive maps that would draw the time and the time history.

In the 60's, when he made his compositions Salamanque graphics, inspired by elos lakes Caracas Botanical Garden, and brought the evidence of what would be the essence and projection of future artistic fruit. Motivated by a considerable contemplation, reinterpreted the nature and the environment.

These were the years of dedication to create imaginary cities full of graphics, fancy mansions in places unknown to the viewer, but recognizable for her. Experiments with "collage" prompted him to use clippings operated with traces of drawing and color, dignifying the waste material in order of creation.

His activities as a founding member of the University Art Gallery, UCV him to develop another side, thanks to links with institutions that would open the prospect of international travels to Bulgaria and other European countries. His visit to Prague coincides with the Russian invasion, hastily left the city, but not before capturing the essence of the landscape, which would translate back to Venezuela, playing with multicolored forms, the majesty of that architecture.

To Salamanque, Prague is a reflection on the enduring beauty that you want to keep above any threatening event. This chapter is key to understanding the position of Mirna Salamanque against artistic event. In a decade marked by protests, marches, guerrilla wars, custionamiento the established order, capitalism, communism, political polarization, the phenomenon "hippie" French May, and other conflicts, this artist is not involved in the "fires" at the time, decided to dispense with the drama, to reflect the harmonious through its expressive forms.

Faced with the chaos of the world comes to her an alternative: the unexplored universe is presented as a utopia of peace, and becomes the representation-style comic in a series dedicated to Yuri Gagarin, the first Soviet cosmonaut.

The fascination for the great outdoor space will remain present in their future proposals.

The assemblage of objects waiting in the 70's.

Metal framed at this time are the use of paper as support, as a subject spray painting, incorporating elements of industrial waste, such as grids, fragments of plastic parts and metal among others, which will serve to ensure an image negative-positive in the picture plane at first, was monochromatic.
